Why I Paint?

I paint to remember. I paint to celebrate.

A partner. A friend. I celebrate a life.

I have always felt my deepest griefs when one of my pets has passed. I have witnessed that same grief in friends and strangers alike.  I started painting to help heal that grief.  I have witnessed people go speechless, swelling up with emotions when I have presented my work to them. That is my reward.

Long after the paint is dry, or that friend is gone, my desire is that the image will stir the heart.

The English writer, Charles Algernon Swinburne, once wrote,“And time remembered, is grief forgotten” and I think he is right.

All of the proceeds from my work go directly to help Animal charities around the globe. Specifically, older, senior dogs, such as https://www.savingseniordogsusa.org which is an organization specializing in awareness of senior dogs with membership of over thirty plus rescues around the country.
